This bit never fails to make me happy. This is Clive in a nutshell. He’s about to duel a fellow he’s never met for a non-existent reason and he gives him a small friendly smile. And totally nonplusses Theo. AwWWWwww it’s the start of a beautiful friendship!
happy birthday, Roger Livesey - I absolutely fell in love with him when I first saw “I Know Where I’m Going!” (first seen at 00:13 in the clip above) and then realized I had already witnessed his acting excellence in a later film, The Entertainer. Subsequent viewings of The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp, A Matter of Life and Death and The Master of Ballantrae further proved to me how wonderful an actor Roger was. How could you not fall in love with that luscious voice?
